John Milledge letter : to Major Jacob Kingsbury, 1803 March 7.

This letter from John Milledge, dated March 7, 1803, was sent to Major Jacob Kingsbury, commanding officer at Fort Wilkinson. Milledge thanked Kingsbury for information on a "renegade" named Bowles, promising cooperation in protecting inhabitants of the state if necessary.

John Milledge, II (1757-1818) was born in Savannah, Georgia, the only son of John Milledge (1721-1781) and Ann (Smith) Milledge.
